Kamaru Usman is eager for a rematch with Masvidal, as a broken nose before the first fight did not allow him to realize his potential
Kamaru Usman will defend his welterweight title against Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 next month, but the Nigerian Nightmare is still aiming for a rematch with Jorge Masvidal.

Usman, set to defend his 170-pound belt against Burns on February 13 live on ESPN + PPV from Las Vegas, Nevada, defeated Masvidal by decision when they met at UFC 251 on " Fight Island." Although the fight helped UFC 251 collect 1.3 million purchases per view, it is difficult to call the performance of the fighters, especially the champion, the best.
Usman has had plenty of time to reflect on the fight with Masvidal, and he believes that if they had met again, everything would have been different.

"I'm not happy because I didn't fight at full strength in that fight, no matter how much I prepared before," Usman told ESPN. "Many things influenced the fight. But I'm much better than that. Now I have a lot more techniques and skills that I can show, and then I beat him with what I did for five years."
"Now I'm struggling with myself," Usman continued. "This fight will happen if he tries, and I want to do it again, because you need to put an exclamation mark on it. I want to kill him. I want to impress myself."
